On Illuminating

On Illuminating: Light and Truth on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is a bi-weekly podcast produced by the Indiana University Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and inclusion. Each show features conversations with university faculty, staff, students, and public and business leaders passionate about sharing their experiences and innovative strategies to build communities where all are valued and belong, and listeners can apply learned techniques in their communities.

Host

Provost Professor Lemuel W. Watson, associate vice president for diversity, equity, and inclusion at Indiana University, is an educator, advocate, and collaborator with a variety of individuals, groups, and professionals.

Throughout his career, Lem has emphasized the need to value diversity as a means to understanding our world and enhancing our understanding of ourselves. To attract and retain personnel and a leadership team representing our diversity as a nation takes commitment from the top leadership to lead and hold others accountable. Recognized as a scholar and researcher on issues of underrepresented groups through speaking invitations and publications over the last three decades, he has worked as a consultant on public policy and talent management issues around the world.
